PLANNING FOR PROJECT DELIVERY

The purpose of this course is to inform you how to maximise the factors of project success.  Its objective is to define a set of measures – standards of comparison, estimation or judgement – for you to report the performance of your projects.

You will frequently hear of statistics that report high rates of failure in projects.  Depending on the authors of a report, up to two-thirds (approximately 66%) of all projects undertaken globally fail to deliver expected outcomes or are facing challenges in delivery.  The important point often missed is ‘measurement’.  Do projects fail frequently or are the measures misleading?  The answer to the question may, in reality, be an incorrect standard or comparison rather than mistakes in managing projects.
